Knoll Planning Unit Portfolio, ca. 1954

A handmade, unpublished Knoll Planning Unit portfolio from the toad atelier collection is now exhibited in “Eventually Everything Connects: Mid-Century Modern Design in the US" at the Cranbrook Art Museum. It is composed of four original Paste-Up models created by Florence Koll, sketches, and vintage photographs. Should you miss the chance to view it at the exhibition, here is your opportunity to flip through each individual page.

Mathematica: A World of Numbers . . . and Beyond, Sketches by Miyoko Sasaki, ca. 1961

Mathematica: A World of Numbers... and Beyond was the first fully immersive, large-scale exhibition designed by the Eames Office, meant for the March 1961 opening of a new science wing at the California Museum of Science and Industry in Los Angeles. At the Cranbrook Art Museum's latest exhibition, "Eventually Everything Connects: Mid-Century Modern Design in the US," two of the five original sketches created by Miyoko Sasaki are currently exhibited. You are welcome to check out the other three examples on the internet.
